2008 DM-Blog recap

Here’s a recap of this blog in 2008.

  1. Liking “There Will Be Blood” was like the fable “The Emperor’s New Suit.”
  2. The phrase “Separation of Church and State” is not in the U.S. constitution.
  3. I look like Donny Osmond
  4. Christopher Nolan’s Joker is the greatest villain in Cinema History
  5. Marriage should be (in essence) privatized.  The government (heterosexual or homosexual) will destroy marriage.  The definition of Marriage should not be determined by our government, but by individuals and religious organizations (more to come on this in 2009).
  6. Celebrities do not deserve our love or money (more to come on this in 2009).
  7. Lack of clean drinking water kills more people than anything else worldwide.

Keep an eye on this blog, and on these other blogs in 2009.

De-brainwashing: Cleansing the minds of the brainwashed.

De-brainwashing will examine the brainwashing of the powerful over the minds of the citizens and offer prospectives and solutions to reclaim our freedom of thought.

I for one am tired of the hand of the powerful holding down the common man/woman.  The older I get the more I realize how being exposed to 5,000 ads a day is affecting all of us.  We’ve been brainwashed to give our hard earned money to people who already have way too much money.  It’s time the average citizens take their Country back from the rich – and I don’t want the government’s help.

The Real NFL

A few weeks ago I was serving as a judge for Humorous Interpretation of Literature at the National Forensic League’s 2008 National Tournament and I was incredibly impressed by the incredible talent of the competitors. While I naturally can’t disclose my personal recommendations or remarks, I can say that it was an incredibly tough round (in a good way) to judge. Other judges included Anthony E. Zuiker, Michael Urie, Jen Kober, Susan Anton, and about 11 other incredibly talented judges that I will soon remember and update…

I had not experienced the “NFL” since High School. I participated in Speech and Debate my sophomore, junior, and senior year in high school (wish I did it my freshman year too) and was fortunate enough to qualify for Nationals all three years (yes, the judges must have been crazy). Speech and Debate is one of my fondest memories of High School.

I’ve got tons more I could say about all of this – perhaps in the near future I’ll do another post.

Power to the short people!

Famecast Profile

Apparently I’m in the mood to join new websites latley – -

I’ve been writing music since high school and I’ve never really taken it too seriously.  When I’m in the right mood, or when I have some free time sometimes I’ll feel like writing one.  I’ve decided I like writing music and I’m going to try to take it a bit more seriously.  There are some spec movie scores, some techno stuff, and some songs with lyrics.

I’ve had a page with myspace music for a while but am not totally satisfied with the way it’s set up.  A friend of mine, Justin Lutsky, is on famecast.com and I recently created a profile.

CLICK HERE to navigate to my page.

Let me know what you think.  I’m really looking to learn – the page is more for my education than public edification.  I’m still learning how to write music and would love some feedback.

Thanks!

Quarterlife.com portfolio

I created a new profile on quarterlife.com – typically I’m against joining every single social network that comes along, but for some reason I really liked this one! It’s geared toward artists and provides a great place to post photography, videos, writing, music and so on.

David May’s Virtual Christmas Card

Family and Friends,

Hello!

A few years ago (when I became an adult… at least legaly) I decided it was time to start writing my own Christmas letters. Now, this is going to be a gradual build up to actually sending letters in the mail to my friends and family; right now I’m only up to the “virtual Christmas Card” level. None the less, it will address what Christmas Cards are supposed to address, at least in my eyes.

1) Are you alive? If so, what are you doing?

2) Are you skinny or big? Married or single?

3) What else has changed since last Christmas that I should know about?

And the most important:
4) Merry Christmas.

Here are the answers:

1) Yes, I’m alive. I’m still working at Chapman and going through the graduate film program to receive a Masters in Film Studies. In addition, I’m trying to stay involved in various film projects, and working with Josh Snyder to develop various feature length scripts that hopefully we can get a production company to pay for. Our filmmaking troop is recently talking about trying to raise money and produce a feature this upcoming summer independently, but I’m still hoping we can sell an idea to a production company. I’m also helping some of our guys with their webesodes on www.vidshadow.com. I’ve been uploading some stuff from my past to that website too. Here are the Holiday specific ones:

Twas the Night before Christmas
Santa Pranks
Santa Pranks 2

2) Yes.

3) What has changed since last year? Well… I was 23 last year but now I’m 24… other than that… I’m not sure. I guess I was on TV; CLICK HERE if you missed it.

4) And definitely, Merry Christmas.
